The new School and Community Hub in the Don Bosco district was conceived as a concrete response to the need to regenerate an urban area marked by decay, transforming it into a large educational, cultural, and social park.
The project places the school at the center as a community space—open and inclusive—capable of thriving beyond school hours thanks to its synergy with the Community Hub, which houses an auditorium, library, and FabLab. The architecture prioritizes flexibility and innovation: adaptable classrooms, communal areas such as agoras and workshops, and accessible, inclusive environments designed to support hands-on learning and shared growth.
Sustainability is a guiding principle: permeable paving and green areas reduce environmental impact, rainwater collection and reuse systems ensure climate resilience, while photovoltaic panels, micro-wind turbines, and geothermal energy power the new facilities, making them efficient and self-sufficient.
A project that weaves together pedagogy, architecture, and landscape, restoring identity to the neighborhood and creating a new hub of urban life, where school and city merge into a single community experience.
